The first “debate/forum” for the candidates for NC state super happened last night.
This was Michele Morrow’s opening statement:

She has never been an actual classroom teacher in schools or served in any capacity within the public school system here in North Carolina.
She has never sent her children to public school while living in North Carolina. No serving with a school’s PTSA in NC. No involvement in an extracurricular activity sponsored by a NC public school that one of her children may be involved with.
And she has not been a nurse in a professional setting for years and certainly was not in hospitals during the pandemic.
Parents already have rights. Syllabi are always available from teachers as well as standards set by the state are online.
If she wanted to lift people out of poverty using public education, then she would have been screaming for the LEANDRO decision to be honored.
And her comment about not making things “political” in education and pushing political agendas? B*llsh*t.
