That report refers to a recent social media post by Michele Morrow.

The irony that Morrow has never served in a public school in any capacity including as a parent was lost months ago. The fact that she is using the race for the top public school post in this election as a place to wage unfounded culture wars is not surprising.
But this is hateful.
It shows an incredible lack of perspective, tolerance, and acceptance on the part of someone who claims to be working for all students in our public schools.
To misinterpret a mission statement of a social cause whether one likes it or not is irresponsible. To intentionally use that as misinformation this close to the election as a means to associate Equality NC with promoting pedophilia is simply being homophobic.
We already have a candidate for state office who says really repugnant things about gay people.

The highest ranking GOP official in the state who has power over the state public school system and wants to run for the highest office in the state that directly controls the funding of said school system just described some of the students serviced by that school system as cow sh^&.
Remember the bathroom bill, HB2? Former governor Pat McCrory sure does. It ended his political career. And it targeted transgender people.
Mark Robinson hopefully will not win election, and some of the latest allegations against him seem to point to someone who should not be casting stones against others.

But less than two months before Election Day and Morrow is playing this card?
Desperate.
Callous.
And honestly one of the most insensitive things I have heard a candidate say besides some on the national stage.
