The local public school is an established public good where taxpayer money helps to educate all of the students who pass through its doors no matter what socioeconomic background they come from. They could be students from single-parent families or presumably stable nuclear families. 

Did the person for whom you voted (or will on Tuesday) ever attend a high school football game because he/she supported that school?

Did that candidate ever pay for a ticket for any event at a public school to support the students involved? Sporting event? Play? Fundraiser? Concert? Academic competition? Jamboree? Middle school soccer game?
