Oftentimes, most of the bills and mandates that get thrown around in Raleigh during the long and short sessions go unseen in the public eye.
There is just not enough time and bandwidth to research everything much less know where to investigate. Added to that is the intentional misleading maneuvering that goes into crafting legislation in which an altruistic veneer is used to cover more sinister actions.
Just look at the “hurricane relief” bill that actually removed powers from the offices in incoming state officials by the opposing political party.
But here is a tool you can use – The Public Funds Public Schools Billtracker.

Part of the Education Law Center initiative, this tool allows users to look up all bills dealing with education in any state. Just enter the information into the filters and it cranks out a downloadable list that match the criteria.

Each bill can then be looked over for all of the sponsors and versions.
