When a 2024/2025 audit of the WSFCS system was released and presented in the March school board meeting, it sent some shock waves.

Since that time, the only thing that has grown faster than that deficit total is the number of questions that remain unanswered. And most of those questions are pointed straight to the WSFCS Board of Education and Central Office.

It has been over two months since the audit was reported. Already there is a new interim chief finance officer, an impending retirement of the school system superintendent, the flurry of finishing a school year with its exams and EOCs/EOGs, and looming fiscal deadlines.
Teachers, parents, local taxpayers, students, and media outlets have been openly questioning, petitioning, and demonstrating. Social media groups are still buzzing with theories and multiple versions of multiple “truths” and observations.
We still have no answers directly from our board of education.
It’s past time.
