… sense of timing.
It was the night before students arrived on campus for this school year (a little over two weeks ago) that WSFCS sent out an email outlining the latest round of layoffs.

Then that first Friday, the first weekend of the new school year, notices began to be sent out VIA EMAIL. Some educators got an electronic notice in an email transmission the same day they were in front of students doing the job they will no longer have in a matter of days.

Then we get this email tonight (not one week later):

I totally understand why some time is needed for adjustments, but it’s the “why” of it. This day would not be needed to allow people to adjust to new school system positions because the original people were RIF’ed if those who instigated the layoffs had done a better job of managing themselves.
And as if more salt is needed in the wounds of educators, especially those in the EC departments in each school, this was sent out yesterday:

Delaying the news? Waiting until the holiday weekend is over? After you told them they would hear by this past Thursday?
WSFCS already knew about the 10-day ADM window. They knew where the vacancies were because there has been a hiring freeze.
Now people will go into the long weekend still sweating, while WSFCS continues to badly communicate with its people in the schools.
