So, We Have A New (Interim) Superintendent

Depending on when a permanent school superintendent is hired, WSFCS could have four different people occupying the top office in this system within the span of one and a half years (give or take a couple of months).

With Catty Moore’s final day fast approaching, the school board has hired Dr. Don Phipps to be an interim superintendent. Here is the notice teachers were sent yesterday:

Moore’s contract was for six months. Phipps’s contract is for 15 months.

If he serves the whole 15 months, that would mean it would have taken the current school board over two years to have found and convinced someone to serve as a permanent superintendent for this school system.

And when that hire enters office, WSFCS will have had six supers within about eight years.

Imagine having six principals in the span of eight years in a school.

That lack of continuity speaks to potential teachers who might be students in our schools, universities, or thinking about lateral entry possibilities.
