Do You Know Who Is Running For Your Local School Board?

That’s a big question – at least here in Winston-Salem / Forsyth County.

Just go to your local county/city board of elections website.

For my school district, I could just do a simple Google search.

There it is – “Board of Elections”.

At the top, there is a link for “candidates” that should lead you to an overall list of people who have filed to be a candidate in the next election cycle.

Choose the first one.

There should be a place that allows you to access a list of candidates.

If there are primaries, then they will be there. If primaries have passed, then those who made the cut will be on the November ballot list.

Every candidate for every office up for election will be listed. Just look for the “office” of Board of Education.

In WSFCS, 35 people are running for 9 spots. Currently, six of the current board is running for reelection. This will be the last time that all seats for this district will be on the ballot in a single election as they will now be staggered in terms.

Go find who is running for your district. It’s that important of an office.
