Something tells me that Phil Berger would have spent another 10-12 million dollars for a couple of more votes.
But that would be less money for other cronies around the state to spend in their general elections.

Considering that 12 million dollars would equate to around $500 per vote in a primary for a 13-term state senator who makes a base salary of under $14K per annum, that’s a steep price to pay just to stay in office.
Why is that so important to Phil? This should give you an idea.

Here is the supposed text from that nighttime visit.

“In 2024 we spent $10 million and Phil raised most of it. If he spends $2 million on his own fundraising against you, then we will not keep the supermajority.”
And there it is. Berger is the state’s “Sugar Daddy” and Citizens United has been the enabling legislation that allows Berger to collect money and dole it out to people like Amy Galey.
This also brings to mind the Jefferson Griffin – Allison Riggs debacle from last year. With a recount surely to come along and the talk of provisional votes yet to be tallied, it would seem that this primary outcome could be stretched out a bit.
And cost more money?

How much did Sam Page spend?
Compared to Berger, almost nothing.
