Another RIF Due To Another Self-Fulfilled Public Education Prophecy

When the state deliberately holds up the budget process knowing that a majority of the state budget goes to public education, then state lawmakers are culpable in this latest round of teacher cuts.

When public “servants” shout a false narrative about “failing” public schools, some people automatically react and place their students into unregulated private schools that can’t run without state voucher money that comes from the the state.

When the state uses an ADM model to fund public schools, then it negates that the number of facilities which must be maintained does not decrease even if fewer students are counted in the first ten days of school.

From WSFCS last fall:

And now, we have to reduce our number of teachers because ADM for the first ten days of the 2026-2027 school year is lower than expected.

That’s another Reduction in Force (RIF).

And we are not the only school system dealing with this.
