What happened last night was not magic.
It was not luck.
It was the reward for hard work and tireless practice. It was the product of endless hours of just getting better, growing together, and paying attention to the very details that no score sheet will ever show.
Diving for loose balls. Playing hard-nosed defense. The defensive stops. The forced turnovers. Not just the number of rebounds, but when they were gotten. Taking the charge. Contesting every shot. The communication. The arms “up.” Making free-throws. Staying out of traps. Making them fight for absolutely everything. Making them call four timeouts in the last quarter. Playing above height and other people’s expectations.
What happened last night was the result of heart, grit, and wanting it more.
Home game Saturday in Hickory.
