From that report:
Republican Kyle Hall, who represents Stokes and Forsyth, responded.
“I’ve heard from a number of constituents who are concerned with everything that is going on with the school system there. We all have seen the headlines,” he said. “This gives the voters one more opportunity to address those concerns with a turnout election that should be pretty high.”
Interestingly enough, primaries were just decided almost two months ago with an very big turnout for primaries in a non-national election cycle.
Some of the same people backing this legislation also want to limit the amount of property tax a municipality can levy in a state that still has not passed a new state budget from the last long session almost a year ago.
And it should not go without mentioning that the other NCGA House member from Forsyth is Dana Caudill-Jones, who was on the board of education before elected to the General Assembly. In fact she was on the WSFCS BOE from 2014-2022.
When the state audit of the WSFCS finances was released in response to the budget crisis of 2025, it combed through years of financial statements.

What was found was not a one time incident that set the district astray, but a series of mistakes that compounded upon each other to create this storm of a deficit.

2017 is eight years ago.
Who was on the board then and was for the next few years? Yep, one of the people now in Raleigh who is the target of this letter from current Forsyth County officials and those who are up for election this fall.
