Do you know who is running for the local school board and county commission?

That’s a big question – at least here in Winston-Salem / Forsyth County.

Just go to your local county/city board of elections website.

For my school district, I could just do a simple Google search.

There it is – “Candidates”.

That link for “candidates” should lead you to an overall list of people who have filed to be a candidate in the next election cycle.

Choose the first one.

There should be a place that allows you to access a list of candidates.

The primaries have passed, so those who made the cut will be on the November ballot list.

Every candidate for every office up for election will be listed. Just look for the “office” of Board of Education.

In WSFCS, 16 people are running for 9 spots. Currently, three of the current board is on the ballot. This will be the last time that all seats for this district will be on the ballot in a single election as they will now be staggered in terms.

Go find who is running for your district. It’s that important of an office.
